Chopin and Blue Rat

"What, is there something on my butt?"

Blue rat is my most friendly and sweet rat out of the five of them; her and Chopin really get along when they're on the bed together.
Even though Chopin wants to be best friends with Mujo the cat, he has a pretty good time with Blue rat as well.

Mujo used to be my Boyfriend's cat, but he's come to live with us. Within a month he was pretty much the king of the house, he makes rounds during the night where he'll bang on each person's door until he's let in, sleeps on their bed for about an hour, and then bangs the door to be let out.
Every time Mujo sees Chopin, he runs up to him and starts hitting him until Chopin is crying in a corner, but that apparently doesn't stop Chopin from trying to befriend him.

We found out that Chopin really likes to lick Blue rat's butt though, and that's kind of nasty...

PS. Petco has a great Christmas sale right after the holidays are over :D We got Chopin a ton of cute Christmas stuff for 75% off. I'm not sure it's still going on, but now we have Christmas stuff for next year!

Happy New Year!

"Hay guys, didya miss me?"

Well first off, happy new year! I know I haven't updated very much at all (and I have no excuse), but decided to remedy that by making one of my resolutions to update the blog more often.
I feel terrible too because I haven't blogged about a lot of Chopin's firsts, like his first bath, his first walk, or his first trip to the groomer, but luckily there are a few that haven't been missed yet, like his first birthday!

Chopin has been doing great and has just passed the one year mark, his birthday was on December 31st, we didn't have a party for him since everyone was busy preparing for a New Years gathering, but he's just matured into the most wonderful dog I could ever hope for.

"LET ME IN THE CAR ARE WE GOING TO THE BEACH?"

He also took his first road trip with us just after Christmas, we went to Palm Springs and Chopin (when he wasn't forced to stay in the hotel room) had a blast schmoozing with his other dog friends. I thought he'd fuss more in the car, but he did surprisingly well, thought it was only about a 3 hour car ride, he did manage to chew up his leash when we weren't paying attention...

We found this adorable little dog fashion store in an outlet mall we went to and bought Chopin a rhinestone collar for his "birthday present", the woman working there was super nice and seemed very knowledgeable about dogs in general. I wish I could remember the store name for next time, but I can't recall it at all.

Anyway, I could write more, but pictures can say so much more than I can ever type (plus this keyboard is terrible and my hands are cold.)

Little black sweater

We bought the cutest little black sweater for him, since he seems to be cold going outside to poo poo, he looks adorable in it, we also bought him a Mr.Orange amoeba man, he loves him.
I'm a little worried because it seems like he may have fleas? I found one flea on him, and then saw him itching and wasn't sure if it was because of his sweater or more fleas. I hope it's not from our house, or else we'll have to check Mujo the cat for them too.

On another note, I've taught him how to sit! It took forever to get him to pay attention, but I got excited when he finally plopped his fat little butt down, and now he's in his crate again for a little afternoon nap.

He does it so adorably...
