Happy New Year!

"Hay guys, didya miss me?"

Well first off, happy new year! I know I haven't updated very much at all (and I have no excuse), but decided to remedy that by making one of my resolutions to update the blog more often.
I feel terrible too because I haven't blogged about a lot of Chopin's firsts, like his first bath, his first walk, or his first trip to the groomer, but luckily there are a few that haven't been missed yet, like his first birthday!

Chopin has been doing great and has just passed the one year mark, his birthday was on December 31st, we didn't have a party for him since everyone was busy preparing for a New Years gathering, but he's just matured into the most wonderful dog I could ever hope for.

"LET ME IN THE CAR ARE WE GOING TO THE BEACH?"

He also took his first road trip with us just after Christmas, we went to Palm Springs and Chopin (when he wasn't forced to stay in the hotel room) had a blast schmoozing with his other dog friends. I thought he'd fuss more in the car, but he did surprisingly well, thought it was only about a 3 hour car ride, he did manage to chew up his leash when we weren't paying attention...

"Hello I am so fashionable"

We found this adorable little dog fashion store in an outlet mall we went to and bought Chopin a rhinestone collar for his "birthday present", the woman working there was super nice and seemed very knowledgeable about dogs in general. I wish I could remember the store name for next time, but I can't recall it at all.

Anyway, I could write more, but pictures can say so much more than I can ever type (plus this keyboard is terrible and my hands are cold.)

To the BEACH!

Sorry for not posting in forever, it's been a little over a month, and Chopin's done a lot of things like, his first bath, and walking outside, I feel bad for not blogging about those... :[

He's learned quite a few more tricks, but didn't seem too up for doing them when I was recording him, nevertheless, enjoy this video. (please ignore my fat legs in the end LOL, also I am sick so I sound nasaly)

but today we took him to the beach to socialize him, and have some fun.

"I am hesitant..."

Chopin was kind of scared of the other dogs (especially since they were more than twice his size) and this really energetic boxer puppy kept running up to Chopin and smacking him in the face, I don't think Chopin was too thrilled to meet other dogs after that; he kept hiding behind my legs.

We took him to walk on the seashore a bit as well, and he was terrified of the waves coming in, whenever I lured him over with treats, he'd see a wave coming and would run for dear life.

"sand is delicious! Also, look at my fat neck."

The car ride home was very quiet, Chopin was half asleep the entire time.
"I want go hooooome..."

When we brought him home he had a bath, then I gave his nails a trim and cleaned out his ears, so it's safe to say he was way exhausted. After pooping and peeing him in the yard, he plopped into his new crate and went to sleep.
"Leave me alone, I want to sleeep!!!"

Yay, he's finally home!!

On the ride home, I carried him in my lap, and we had a few toilet accidents, lucky for me my mom bought some toilet training pads (peepeepads) so I spread that out on the car floor and Chopin promptly had diarrhea. (from his shots and worming medicine). We thought we were finally out of the storm, but after putting him in his crate, he peed a little in there, and refused to get near the peepee.

"Don't put me back in there with the pee!"

Currently he's fast asleep in his crate and he looks so cozycomfy, he's gotten a little bigger since
we saw him two weeks ago and his coat is really starting to grow in.
